Linen Biennale

Northern Ireland

A celebration of linen, past, present, and future

REACTing to our Linen Legacy

November 13th 2024.
12-1:30pm Europa Hotel, Belfast.

Missed us? Linen Biennale NI is getting a special airing in 2024 for the Linen Quarter BID's RE[act] Festival.

We are teaming up with our friends at Northern Ireland Screen for a delightful lunchtime talk, where we'll showcase selected footage from the Digital Film Archive, offering a window into the past, and respond to it with dynamic, visual content that highlights the enduring relevance of linen in contemporary Northern Ireland.

The Linen Biennale Northern Ireland returned in August 2023.

The year’s themes, Renew & Revive, consciously overlaped and interwove, as we continued to understand and appreciate the legacy of flax and linen, and explore its value now and in the future.

The Linen Biennale Northern Ireland is an initiative of R-Space Gallery.

What is the
Linen Biennale?

The Linen Biennale is a cultural festival that stimulates new thinking about one of Ireland’s oldest textiles, linen.
