Flax and Fibres Celebration Day at Moneydarragh Hub – September 1st

Celebrate the Linen Biennale 2023 at Moneydarragh Hub with talks from the Digital Film Archive, artist Emma Whitehead, and more!
A day of linen-themed talks, demonstrations and more at Moneydarragh Hub celebrating the area’s history as a flax retting field.

Speakers will include Bronagh McAtasney of the Digital Film Archive who will show historical footage of linen production and some interesting linen related projects and textile artist Emma Whitehead, who is currently engaged with R-Space Gallery and the Linen Biennale through her Longest Linen Tablecloth project.

A tapestry weaving demonstration will take place across the day with textile artist Rena Roohipour.

This event is part of Moneydarragh Hub's Grove of the Oaks Festival, celebrating the environment and sustainability in rural Mourne. The Flax and Fibres event is also part of the Linen Biennale 2023.
